Slacker...

So I opened up the blog and saw the last pics of Spencer and thought his hair is NOT that short. I then checked out the date and realized that it has been awhile since I posted and now my kid is quite shaggy and desperately needs a haircut...Haircuts are such drama though that I have been avoiding it and now Jean thinks that Spencer has a Beber hairstyle, which I promise is not on purpose. Any tips for making haircuts less dramatic?? And I will post again soon...

When doing it ourselves we let Bug use a squirt bottle to squirt daddy in the head while I'm in charge of trimming the hair. It makes a big, wet hairy mess on the floor, but the boy actually gets excited when we mention getting a hair cut.

I get a snack size bag of M&M's and just keep feeding them to him. It works pretty well most of the time.

Yes.. food and distraciton is the answer. I put Camille in the high chair stocked with teddy grahams and have the TV in eye view.

My roommate said to give him a sucker. and that would distract him enough.

get a Flowbee, and let him do it himself, no time like the present to start learning real life skills

Wayne and I tag-team. We do it in the bathroom so I sit on the toilet lid, and put my arms around the one getting the haircut to lessen flailing. Wayne walks around us, working on the hair with his clippers. Do it as fast as you can! Sometimes it helps to let the little guy flip the clippers on, and touch the side to feel the vibrations. I get hair all over me, but I just wear minimal clothes or exercise clothes we can toss in the wash too. A promise of a bath soon helps! Then we slide them right into the tub to let them splash clean.
