Don't mind the drool...

So yesterday Spencer got a fever that persisted to today. Translation=another ear infection. Poor little guy!! When he is sick, he tends to drool more, hence the big wet spot on the onsie.
Motrin does wonderful things and makes sick boys feel more like playing...or trying to figure out how to escape the crib. He now pulls himself up to standing so I need to move the bars up.
This is what he looks like when he loses his balance. But no worries, he quickly recovered and there were no falls.
Let me out!!!
And I just think he was so adorable the other day before church, he's a heart breaker!!!
MUAH!!!!

Catch up!

Here are a few things that we have been up to lately...Spencer became nerdified--the youngest boy to get glasses! Poor thing! We can't keep them on him and these are temporary until they can make him a pair of smaller baby ones.
JUST KIDDING! They are just Jean's glasses. Off to the canyon...Apparantly Spencer was peeved that some kids were playing in the river and we didn't let him.
We also went up another day with some of my family, but I unfortunately didn't get any pics of them!
Spencer rode the carousel and liked it for awhile, but then I think he started getting dizzy and wanted off, but he hadn't reached that point yet in this picture.

We enjoyed the Fiesta Days car show, especially my Dad showing us all the cars that looked like the cars he used to drive. Jean didn't realize my Dad was so old! =)
Spencer was a bit tired after all the excitement and heat!
Oh yeah, Spencer is getting pretty good at scooting around the house, but the catch is he only knows how to go backwards at this point. He backed up into our "home office" and got pretty frustrated that he isolated himself. I need to get video of him on all fours rocking back and forth--SO CUTE!!!

So, after this long post, it is nap time!!

Las Vegas!

We had a great time in Vegas! We got to go see Phantom of the Opera. We had great seats and now can't get the songs out of our heads.
The Bellagio flower display
Of course, we went to the Bellagio and had a lot of fun showing the water show to Spencer. I wished we had captured his face when the show first started...it was hilarious! His eyes opened really big and his jaw dropped!

Viva Las Vegas!!! Or as my Dad says, Viva Lost Wages!! Thanks to my parents and brother Spencer for a great weekend!!!

Six months already!!!

Spencer got a high chair for his six month celebration! (Well, it just happened to come in the mail today...) But he likes it, and feeding him is much easier. The chair turns feedings from a two person job down to a one person job (allowing us to capture his facial expressions on video!).

As I was hoping to show you with video (the video is ridiculously big and was taking too long to upload and I don't know how to make it smaller), he is not quite used to applesauce yet (he pulls some pretty funny faces), but he has warmed up to peaches and he loves green beans (just like his mommy--except for I don't care for mine puree'd.) We love our little guy and have loved these past six months with him!!!!

Rolling over

Awhile ago, Spencer did a magic rollover but I couldn't get him to do it again. Well this past week, he has been doing it again and has gotten pretty good. As soon as you put him on his back, he goes to his belly. But he is not as good going from belly to back, though we know he can because he has a few times. Anyway, today I finally was able to capture it on camera!

What a perfect day for grilling!

Spencer is hooked! He LOVED grilling with Jean and wanted to help hold everything! It was pretty darn cute!

five months ago...

this little guy joined our family.

Bet this is the youngest grandpa you'll ever see...These rompers are easy and cute, but they do make Spencer look like a grandpa to me! (Maybe because my grandpa wore those mechanic coveralls or whatever they are called, you know the ones that zip up the front and have sleeves...) Anyway, happy five months little guy! Crazy how time flies.

Check out that bald spot...

I swear that he really does smile! He was just enamored by the red flash light shining in his face...
Mom, this is the little polar bear you bought him that he likes to hug and kiss (well, chew on). It is cute when he tucks it under his arm or takes naps with it, as you can see. Big hit, thanks!

I told you he has got quite the bald spot. It has proven to be quite the conversation starter with random strangers.

Lastly, he is closer to learning how to breathe in wind/gusts of air than he is to rolling over...work in progress! =)

poor baby...

So Spencer has been sick since Sunday. Poor little guy, he hasn't been eating much, has been sleeping a ton, even more than usual, and has had high temps several times. Yesterday they did all kinds of tests, which he hated. He kept looking at me, while wailing, and saying with his eyes, "Mom, make them stop, why are you letting them do this to me?" Breaks his momma's heart. But today he is feeling much better, YEA!
This picture is from a few weeks ago, Spencer has to endure all the hairstyles we give him. But in our defense, we must do something with his baby hair, because most babies don't have any...

Marvel!

I just have to say that we are blown away all the time at how blessed we are! Everything works out so well for us all the time, that you would think that we would stop worrying about things (guess that is just human nature). We do our best to have faith though, and everytime we get what we need and more, we marvel at how much our Heavenly Father loves us, how much He pays attention to the little details and all the tender mercies He shows us. Anyway, I am feeling really grateful for all my many blessings, especially Jean and Spencer!

.25 years old...

or more commonly known as three months old.
He is really not sure what to think about this little outfit, well actually, he made up his mind, he does not like it, good thing we got it on sale!
Please notice a theme, he likes to sleep a lot. If it is nearing bed time he will sleep in any position.

Besides the little guy, not much else is new. We spent this last weekend putting sprinklers in our back yard (Michelle dug all the trenches...ok that is simply not true, Jean can claim all that hard work) and will hopefully get the grass seed down this week. That has been a lot of work, but I will be happy to have a back lawn come mid summer! Anyway, so long for now!

Photo shoot

Spencer is about 10 weeks old now and keeps us busy busy busy!
