poor baby...

So Spencer has been sick since Sunday. Poor little guy, he hasn't been eating much, has been sleeping a ton, even more than usual, and has had high temps several times. Yesterday they did all kinds of tests, which he hated. He kept looking at me, while wailing, and saying with his eyes, "Mom, make them stop, why are you letting them do this to me?" Breaks his momma's heart. But today he is feeling much better, YEA!
This picture is from a few weeks ago, Spencer has to endure all the hairstyles we give him. But in our defense, we must do something with his baby hair, because most babies don't have any...

Marvel!

I just have to say that we are blown away all the time at how blessed we are! Everything works out so well for us all the time, that you would think that we would stop worrying about things (guess that is just human nature). We do our best to have faith though, and everytime we get what we need and more, we marvel at how much our Heavenly Father loves us, how much He pays attention to the little details and all the tender mercies He shows us. Anyway, I am feeling really grateful for all my many blessings, especially Jean and Spencer!

.25 years old...

or more commonly known as three months old.
He is really not sure what to think about this little outfit, well actually, he made up his mind, he does not like it, good thing we got it on sale!
Please notice a theme, he likes to sleep a lot. If it is nearing bed time he will sleep in any position.

Besides the little guy, not much else is new. We spent this last weekend putting sprinklers in our back yard (Michelle dug all the trenches...ok that is simply not true, Jean can claim all that hard work) and will hopefully get the grass seed down this week. That has been a lot of work, but I will be happy to have a back lawn come mid summer! Anyway, so long for now!

Discovery

This morning I was cleaning around the house and Spencer was doing his own thing. I caught him discovering that his hand/arm is under his "control". In this first video he is trying so hard to get his hand up to his mouth and getting frustrated when he can't quite get it where he wants. Then this evening (second video) he was working at it again, but was more successful in controlling his hand. It is fun to watch him learn new things!

And I just thought he was cute in this video!

We love our cute, cute boy!

Random pics...

Spencer was not quite sure what to think about this...maybe once he gets a bit bigger he will like it more...

Again, like father, like son...

Weekend getaway

Last weekend Jean's boss generously offered to let us stay at his cabin above Sundance with some friends. Of course, we accepted. Donna and Tim came up with us, but unfortunately we didn't get any pictures with them before they had to take off. We had a lot of fun hanging out with them. Below are some pics from our weekend. The cabin was so comfortable and nice!!
Like father, like son...Jean and Spencer are enjoying the huge flat screen TV in this picture.
What a cutie...
Mount Timpanogos
Game/family room
We kept seeing this statue and thinking someone was standing there...it scared me more than once...
I double as an ice princess, who can fend for herself, no damsel in distress for me!
It was the perfect way to end my maternity leave...yep, I went back to work on Monday. The six weeks went by way too fast!!

Happy one month little guy!!

It is a little hard to believe that Spencer is now one month old!
Daddy is so proud of Spencer's strong legs! Maybe he will be an amazing soccer player!! He is Brazilian, you know.

Spencer sleeps just like his Daddy, mouth open! =) But, really, they both sleep with an eye slightly open...kind of creepy...

I am sure that soon he will grow into the car seat, until then blankets have to center his head.

We are loving our new addition and can't believe how blessed we are. (PS--as I am sitting here typing, Spencer has discovered his thumb and is sucking away....of course until I pull out the camera to document.) Anyway, it has been an exciting month!!

I know, I know...

So, I am turning into the blogger that posts tons of pics of her kiddo to show everyone how dang cute he is, but in my defense, one, there are grandparents far away who want to stay as up to date as possible and, two, isn't that kind of the point of blogs--to post your families' doings? That is what my posts serve as....so don't groan, just enjoy this cute pic I captured today! =) (what else is a girl to do while nursing? It takes forever, at least let me blog during it--I am thankful for our laptop!)

Family

We have been so blessed to have our families around lately! My parents and sister were here for Thanksgiving and then my Mom stuck around waiting for Spencer to show his face and then my Dad and sister came back for Christmas. We all spent lots of time hanging out with Ben and Amy's family as well and the holidays were so much fun...back to the regular grind...ha, yea right, we have a new baby to keep things interesting, like, forever!

Jean's parents came up from Brazil and his sister is also staying with us. We are looking forward to spending this month with them!!

Spencer has won over their hearts and they have won his!!

Baby Blessing

This last Sunday we blessed Spencer in our home. Both of our families were in town so we wanted to take advantage of that.
It was a beautiful blessing and it was great to have loved ones with us. Thanks immensely to all those who helped us make it wonderful!
This is a four generation shot!
